![]() The difference is when sharing models from sites like Sketchfab, ArtStation, or others, the individuals whose models get shared might be watching these forums. There is no legal difference between them. The issues with copyrights regarding game models are the same as with private models created by individual 3D artists. ![]() I don't want to derail this topic any further so let me clarify why I'm saying this: Models publicly shared under the Creative Commons license are perfectly fine to share. I should note the same applies to ArtStation and DeviantArt. ![]() That being said, many authors will privately share models with those who ask but sharing models which are not publicly available or which require payment can get you into legal trouble so I wouldn't recommend it. The models I have personally shared on Sketchfab are freely downloadable and don't require any "ripping" of the files, just register an account on Sketchfab to gain access to the download feature for models. If you would like the tools please privately request them. I won't be posting links to any of the needed files but I can tell you it works. ![]() It requires you to download the model's "", "model_", and "model_file_" along with the model's textures from Sketchfab. Just FYI, the way to extract and convert Sketchfab models uses Blender v2.49 along with some special import scripts.
